2.3 SMALL AND MIGHTY

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Alma: 6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.

8 And now, it has hitherto been wisdom in God that these things should be preserved;

Doctrine and Covenants 64:32-33"...out of small things proceedeth that which is great."

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. Van Gogh

"Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love."

"Try to forget what objects you have before you - a tree, a house, a field, or whatever. Merely think, 'Here is a little square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow,' and paint it just as it looks to you, the exact color and shape, until it gives you your own impression of the scene before you."

Claude Monet

Benediction to PARIS

I sat here on this lawn for the first time 6 years ago, I was 15. experiencing lots of firsts. recognizing a world outside of mine for the first time.. the feeling of being terrified soon melted into being starstruck.. with sparkling towers, beautiful paintings, baguettes, etc. I made a promise to myself the last time I was here to choose the things that scared me the most in life. It was special to sit back on that lawn just 6 short years later and in a way present my 21 year old self back to my 15 year old self. So many adventures to show for, so many new relationships built, lots of trials and oh so many errors too, lots of tears but mainly just lots of love…. the thing i’ve learned over and over again the last 6 years is that Love is the answer. no matter the question. Love for life, love for heavenly Parents, love for friends and family, love for new friends and new places, love for adrenaline rushes, love for new music, new reasons to cry, new reasons to laugh and smile about. love for previous seasons of life.

whenever people ask me why I love Paris so much, the thing that usually comes up is that everything is so artistic- from the details in the buildings, to the hours spent making intricate pastries, and hundreds of sculptures and paintings found throughout, even the music. it’s all very artistic. but the beautiful thing about art is if you get up close and personal with it, it’s pretty messy. lots of random brush strokes of random colors, unique lines. but when you step back and look at it from a distance, you see the whole picture what the artist originally intended from the beginning. and it’s breathtaking.

i’m learning to love all the brushstrokes in my painting thus far and looking forward to continuing to painting some more. keep painting friends". Kenziegreen_, Instagram
